- Hi all you folks out there, anyone who can help me get my system back up
- and running after I deinstalled MuFS???
-
- Here's what I did and what's happening now:
-
- - d/l'd MuFS a couple of days ago, and tried to install it on one of my
- paritions. Because all my partitions (except for the two I use for
- Emplant Mac and Ms-dos) run under AFS 15.9, I reformatted one under the
- standaard filesystem (I've gone back into HDToolBox to change filesystem
- and than back to WB to reformat the Partiton). Everything went well and
- all was working great. But...
-
- - When I then tried to patch the MultiUser.library to AFSMultiUser, the
- installer told me it was not the right version. I've tried all versions
- I have here, so AFS 15.7 68000 and 68020 and AFS 15.9 also both
- versions. Still no luck...
-
- - I decided it was to havy a load to manage and wanted to get rid of it
- again. So I deleted all the files concerning MuFS (I installed it
- manually, so I kept track of all the files). Got the entry in
- User-Startup out of it, went into HDToolBox deleted the MuFS from the
- RDB-blocks of the drive, resetted the partition to use AFS, formatted it
- in WB, copied all my data back... Whoops, there the trouble began. It
- seemed as if my MaxTranfer settings were set to high, 'cause after every
- massive read of write action my machine would hang. I checked if this
- was the case, but no... all parameters were just as they were before I
- installed MuFS.
-
- Also I tried what would happen if I did heavy read and write stuff on
- other partitions, with the same result :(
- My machine has even trouble booting now.
-
- My setup is:
-
- - A4000/040 built in Micronics Tower;
- - WarpEngine 040@40Mhz, with 32Mb's of Fastram;
- - WB 3.1;
- - Piccolo running under EGS;
- - IDE drive 270 MB, 3 partitions: Workbench (AFS), Mac (not automounted)
- and MS-dos (mounted with CrossDos mountlist);
- - 1 FSCSI-II drive 1Gb, 1 partition: Work (AFS);
- - 1 FSCSI-II drive 2Gb, 2 partitions: Applications (this is the
- partition I tried MuFS on), Audio: (AFS with 2048 blocks);
- - SCSI DAT-streamer;
- - Personal Animation Recorder (DPS) with 1.7 Gb IDE (this drive is
- controlled by the PAR's own IDE controller);
- - PAR capture-board (DPS);
- - AD-516;
- - Emplant deluxe;
- - Ariadne Ethernet board (at the moment just used for the Parallel
- port);
- - Best 28K8 Modem (hooked up to the Emplant's serial port)
-
- This is what you call a "Dream-Machine" which is heavily used for
- rendering (LightWave) and Audio/Video editing (PAR, AD-516 w. Studio16,
- ADPro, ImageFX)
-
- Of course I made a backup of everything before I went on with the
- installation of MuFS, but my dog has eaten the tape :(.
-
- Please anyone out there, HELP ME!!!
-
- Thanks,
